Lacy Diamonds are complete!

This was a fun to knit pattern! I used Berroco Sox metallic, and they really sparkle!

Thanks Anni.

Done, but no photo;-(

Then it's the end of the month- again! Hard to believe we are almost in May!

April's Lacy Diamonds are done, but this stupid computer of mine has decided not to upload any photos, so no picture, unfortunately. They were knitted in Senja sockyarn from Gjestal, I did two-at-a-time, magic loop, on 2.5mm needles. Colour: purple.

The pattern was fun and easy to memorize, and the socks are really pretty. Thanks again, Anni!

Now I'm waiting for May's Challenge....the pc still allows me to download patterns and read blogs...;-)

Have a lovely May, all of you. It's Spring here in Western Norway....

3 Months of Socks

I have been doing my monthly socks, I just haven't been taking pictures and posting. So here goes, 3 months worth.

I'l start with April since that is the month we are in. These were made for a friend and I have to deliver them today so I had to hurry and get a photo of them. They are done in SockEase on a size one needle. No pattern on the instep.

Next up is March. They are Wildfoote done on size 2 needles. These were started in a sock class that I taught.

And last is Feb socks. The yarn did not do justice to the pattern but it is a special yarn that I just *HAD* to use. It is NewZealand possum and merino. It feels lusciously soft to the hand and to the foot. I love it but doubt that I will buy anymore as it cost $36 for the pair of socks. It is ok for an oddity but not for regular buy. Besides, I am not sure how it will wear. The heel is already pilling some. Well, not really pilling, but the gray possum fiber is coming out, when I take them off there is always bits of gray fuzz on them that just lifts right off.

Hopefully May's will be done on time and posted.

Happy spring to all.

Lovely Lacey Diamonds

This was a great pattern. I just love a sock that looks REALLY difficult but is super easy. I used some Lorna's Laces yarn and followed the pattern exactly--I know......big shock. Once in a while I follow the pattern. I couldn't help it, I really loved this one.

I also finished the February sock. It took longer because, yep you guessed it, I altered the pattern and made them knee length (my daughter is into knee length, and longer, socks and they are for her). That meant increasing the stitches at the calf and working another pattern repeat. This worked out really good for me because I was able to use ALL of the yarn instead of having "leftovers" to try to make into something else later.

I really liked this pattern also. I used some of my hand-dyed yarn. They turned out GREAT!

Thanks for the wonderful patterns Anni!

Lacy Diamonds Done

Wow these were fun. I love how they turned out, I will be making more with this pattern. They look complicated but were so easy. Yarn is from Anni that I bought a while back. I love the feel of it. Thanks for another wonderful sock.

April's a Washout for Me

Loving all the socks this month! =) Well done, everyone!

I haven't been able to do mine. We've had some bad news about the foundations of our home, and things have been, and will continue to be, very hectic and disorganised. The work needed is extensive (and expensive!), and will take some months to complete. We might not even be able to stay here in the long term, which saddens me. =(

Anyway, I'm trying to stay positive and fit in bits of knitting as and when I can, and I'm hoping I can at least make a good stab at May's pattern. The Norwegian theme is intriguing....

I´m done too...

And here they are...

Great pattern as usual...
Some I have at home in military/multi color green/yellow/white...:o)
Could be austermann maybee...
But it really doesnt mather does it?
Its the pattern and that the owner likes it that mather I think...
Have a nice day//Birgitta

Lacy Diamonds

What a very nice sock to knit!! I knit them from Regia silk 6 ply. It's a lovely summersock.
Thank you for this beautifull pattern.

I love everyone's socks so far. They all look great. How's everyone else doing with their socks? You've still got some time to finish. Good luck.

I also wanted to tell you all that I'm having a sale. Lots of yarns a reduced with most sock yarns down to $14 and lace yarns down to $16 (although there are some variations). There are some ayrn at full price too but sale yarns are clearly marked. Also free shipping (worldwide) for a few more days, until probably Thursday. So hurry up and get your bargains.

I've got a very special pair of socks planned for May with a definite Norwegian theme.....

Happy knitting,

Lacy Diamonds Top Up

Modified toe up with garter heel on US2. I thought I was done with all my varigated yarn but I found 3 more skeins. I vow no more varigated yarn but I have learned a lot on what to look for if I am tempted with all the beautiful colors.

Lacy Diamonds

The stripes actually line up, my feet are just crooked. Please remind me not to use sock yarn with lots of knots in it! The first sock was fine, but I had 14 (yes, I counted) little ends to weave in so that I could have the striping match on the second sock.

If the pattern hadn't been so pretty, I would have given up. As it turned out, the socks are pretty and very spring-like and they are wonderful.

Looking forward to the May socks. Thank you for such a wonderful pattern, Anni.

Well done to everyone who's finished this month's pattern. If you're not quite done yet, please post a pic when you're finished. We love seeing everyone's socks.

April's pattern 'Lacy Diamonds' is listed on the Google group now. And here's some pics:

Lovely spring time socks. The yarns is Almerino Sock and it's the Sock Variety Club April colourway.

If you've always fancied owning a stunning, lace shawl but not keen to knit one yourself. Check out this listing.
Happy knitting,

One more done

This was a nice pattern. Again using stash yarn this month, Lane Cervinia. Thanks Anni! I look forward to April's pattern.

I finished my second pair of socks. Unfortunately, the first pair that was finished was finished a month late and I didn't post them here. These socks will be going to my mom for her birthday.

Too late?

My clock says 10:36 p.m., March 31st, but the blog date is already April 1st. April Fool's?? The person whom I knit these for requested knee socks. I don't know if they'll go all the way to the knee, but I knit until I ran out of yarn. Yarn is Imagination by Knitpicks in Frog Prince colorway. A lovely merino/alpaca blend--very soft and nice to knit.
I only have 1 1/3 socks done this month. I am recovering from total knee replacement. I have had lots of down time but I can't seem to knit on pain meds!
