Do you always knit your socks toe up? I'm just getting to the point where I can recognize that there is a difference in the way the socks are constructed.

@Christine: normally I knit cuff down - only when the pattern requires toe-up

How do you knit your toes and heels, that makes them so pretty?

for the heel I knit a short heel flap - 8 or 10 rows - then a short-row-heel and pick up 4 or 5 stitches along the edge of the flap - for the gusset I decrease every third round

the toe: begin of round in the middle of sole:
needle 1 and 3: knit to last 3 sts - ssk - k1
needle 2 and 4: k1 - k2tog - knit remaining sts

this in every other round until there are 8 sts remaining per needle - then in every round until 4 sts per needle - close in kitchener stitch

I hope you understand my terrible english .... ;-)))

Thank you very much. I'll have to practice that, and see if it works for me. Your English is far from terrible.
