Done!

...and in time this month... These were fun and fast. As you can see, I changed the pattern a little bit...doing a row of leaves up the ffront and up the back, with 3 purl-8 knit-3 purl stitches at both sides...
They weren't supposed to fit me, but they do...I'm having a hard time figuring out when to start increasing/heels on toe-up socks.
Yarn: Silja from Gjestal, 80%wool/20%nylon
Needles: 2.5mm circular
Done toe-up, two-at-a-time, magic-loop.
Thanks again for a great pattern, Anni:-)
Have a lovely summer- I'm off to turn some hay;-)

Yippy new socks!

I love my new socks. The yarn is Happy Feet and you know the pattern. (Sorry I could not get a good picture to show the design. The yarn really is not that dark.) Thanks again for a good knit!

Yarn 4 Socks Club

Very exciting news. I'm going to be the August yarn dyer and designer for Yarn 4 Socks Club. I've known about this for quite a while obviously but the August club is now listed and you can purchase your spot. The base yarn arrived today and is a gorgeous blend I've not had in stock for a couple of months. So I'm really looking forward to using it again. The socks will be otn this weekend. I've not quite decided on the final pattern yet but I've got some great runner ups. I've also been thinking colours and will hopefully be playing with yarn this weekend to try to narrow down the colour choices for the yarn. All in all it should be a great month so if you want to make sure you don't miss out on the fun, join now.

Have a nice weekend,

Anni x

Lazy Leaves Socks

They are done. I was going to make these with some of my stash yarn in a burnt redish color, thinking more of the Fall, but my DD said she wanted a pair with her sock yarn and it MUST have some green. She felt the brown was for the branches and the green for the leave, though this picture doesn't to it justice. DD likes her socks very short, which helped me out sense I didn't see the correction until I was almost done with the second sock. ha ha Then as I was sitting here knitting and finishing up the heal ah ha just a few rows and I will be done(Very tired and want a nap) it was then I discovered that I did the heal of this sock in just a straight st st! OH MY! they don't match! DD thought it was cool that way and told me to leave it. As tired as I was and still am, I abliged. LOL These were very fun. Next pair I make from this pattern will be with the corrections. :)

Lazy Leaves in Green Dream

Since the pattern was leaves, I thought it would be fitting to make the socks with my "Green Dream" yarn from Anni. They turned out beautifully, even with my summer brain.

Love the pattern, love the yarn; but these poor socks must now join the other wool socks in the drawer because it's 100 F/37.8 C here today (and for the next several months).
"Green Dream" yarn from Anni (superwash merino/polyamide) with size 2 needles.

Pattern error

I had an e-mail this morning alerting me to an error in the Lazy Leaves pattern. I type up the pattern in A5 format for the Sock Variety Club first then I copy and paste it into an A4 format and convert it to pdf for Sockamania. The error occured in converting the pattern to A4. I didn't copy correctly the first paragraph for the foot. I've just uploaded the correct pattern to the Google group.

But the first paragraph for the foot should read:
K5, p1, work chart once, p1, k5. Work set up chart once first, then work main chart. Work until the foot measures 4in/10cm shorter than the desired total foot length.

Sorry for any confusion it's caused and thank you to Susi for spotting it and letting me know.

Good luck and happy knitting,

Anni

Lazy Leaves Completed

Another nice, easy pattern. I chose to work top down, which required reading the pattern backwards.

Lacy Diamond

Here are my Lacy Diamonds; I used Opal Petticoat Cotton for these. I just love the way they turned out!! The colors are so perfect for spring.

I love the June sock pattern! I've never done a pair of toe-up socks before but I just have to make these! I have some yarn I dyed in a soft green that will be perfect for them. I'm off to experiment with toe-up cast ons... Steph

Lacy Diamonds

It occurred to me when I saw the post with the June socks, that I never posted my April socks.

Lacy Diamonds Socks

I used Socks that Rock lightweight in the Spring Fling colorway. This was a great pattern! I'm looking forward to knitting the June socks, too.

June Lazy Leaves Sock

The June Lazy Leaves Sock pattern has been posted to googlegroups.
This is a lovely pattern, worked toe up using 100 gr of YarnAddict Glorious Sock Yarn or Super Merino Sock Yarn.

done!...but not in time...

The socks are done..with a little cheating...turned out I didn't have any solid red or blue at all! I tried the starpattern first, but it looked awful! I'm not good with three colours. It might have helped if I had used DPN's instead of insisting on doing both at the same time with magic loop...
The second pattern went well, the stripes too. The heel looks awful. Shortrow-heels are not my favourite... but I got past it...and then I cheated again...making the rest of the sock in the variegated yarn. I was sitting at Dragseidet, waiting for the big outdoor play, and had about an hour Saturday, and another hour Sunday, and knitting with six balls of yarn turned in to a real mess!!!, So I finished with only the variegated blue. The yarn is too messy to see the pattern properly- I might knit these again later in a more suitable yarn.
And this is as far as I got on Sunday night- only the toes left, they were done Monday... A fun knit, and pretty quick, started on Tuesday last week, so less than a week.

Last month I was lucky enough to win the prize! I forgot to take a photo of my prizeyarn, though... It's so lovely! Bronze sockyarn, really really soft and beautiful colours! Thanks, Anni, I'm looking forward to making something out of it!!!

Added June 3rd: Yes, that's little squares on the top, I had three colours and alternated those: 1 st with A, 2 st with B, 3 st with C, 4st with A, 3st with C, 2st with B around for three rounds. Then changed: 1st with C, 2st with A, 3st with B, 4st withC, 3st with B, 2st with A for three rounds. Then: 1st with B, 2st with C, 3 st with A, 4st with B, 3st with A, 2 st with C around for three rounds. The pattern looks like a ladder. It got rather tight, so I should have knitted it on DPN's, I think it's easier to control the tension then.
