My March socks

are not green but Easter yellow. A lovely pattern. Made in Opal Uni (without label) 6o grams and needles nr2.

Finished in time!

My first pair of socks since October. The pattern doesn't show well on this yarn, hand dyed merino from Yarn Addict. But it was a fun pattern to knit up.

Help needed please!

I've only just started these socks but I'm having a problem with the even numbered row after row 5. When I try and knit the "yarn over twice" I keep losing a stitch. What am I doing wrong?

My socks are done :) I didn't have any green yarn, so I made mine yellow ;)
They was a dream to knit, easy pattern to memorize.

My socks are ready too. You are all so fast this month. The yarn is Trekking Flame, again hand-dyed. Not really Irish green but it's green and it looks like spring.

Wearin O the Green

Sirdar on US2. For some reason the camera is not seeing the green that I'm seeing. I changed the heel to eye of partridge and carried through the bottom of the heel. I like the extra cushion.

Wearin O' The Very Bright Green

These socks are even brighter in person. They are Anni yarn in a color called "Neon" and they sure are visible! This is the only time they will be worn until next winter - it's 78 F today.

...yes, green....

I've been cheating a bit on these....had only 75grams left of the green yarn, so I downsized to 56 stitches, and did the pattern only twice, down the front and down the back. Knit a short row heel, instead of the heelflap. Still didn't have enough yarn;-), so the toes are in a different green- and there was enough leftover for a pair of fingerless mitts. They will be a Xmas present for a skinny teenager....
It's a great pattern, and I hope to use it again sometime!
Yarn: Viking Frøyagarn, 2-at-a-time, magic-loop, needles 2.5mm. Quick, fun and pretty! Remember these? I said it would also make great mittens and hat? Well, I frogged the hat, waaaayy too big, but the mittens are okay. So this is another set into the giftbasket.

A small boo-boo in the pattern

I just was made aware of a small mistake in the heel.  I fixed the numbers and uploaded the corrected pattern to the Google group.  I see that some of you just passed right over it, but some of you may be stuck at that point.  The correction makes it a little clearer :o)

Wearin' O The Cream(?) Completed

March socks completed with Cascade Heritage Sock Yarn. Since I could not find the shade of green I wanted, I chose to use cream instead.

Oh these were fun. I ran out of yarn and had to find something close. I used 105 grams to make these. The first skien was from Anni organic merino Green Bush and the other was an other of Anni's from a past Sockamania that I had some left over. My wonderful daughter, who is the one that got this pair, said " I don't care if the toe is a different color. They are hand made!" Oh and that is coming from one who is almost 16. Wow!

My due date was yesterday and no baby yet. I have picked out an other sock project to work on in the hospital.....unless I get that pair done before I go in too. ha ha. I will be seeing my doctor this afternoon and we will see what she has to say.

Wonderful pattern Tama, thanks. I know I need to make myself a pair one of these days.

Jan/Feb merged

I just could not get January done in time and was doubtful about February, so I just combined the two.

I know that this does not count for Feb draw, but the socks are done. Actually I kind of like the combo.

I am not a knee sock wearer now as I wore them all the time when a kid, so I opted to make mine short and live with it.

Now to start on March. I "plan" to do them as written. I am even going to do them top down. I seldom do them top down since I learned toe up ML.

They're damp, but they're done!  Wow, I really liked these, but I found them to be difficult.  This is the first time I knit socks toe up, the first time I've made kneesocks, and the first time I had to rip SIX INCHES out of anything!  Oh so frustrating, but I persevered, and they're very cute.  They are being modeled (and kept) by my 18 year old stepdaughter.  She wanted them exactly like Tama's picture showed.  I couldn't even change the ribbon color :-)

Blue Valentine

Although the long stockings were pretty, neither I nor the person I am gifting the socks to have legs long enough or skirts short enough to show them off properly. LOL. I wanted to do the lace pattern all around the sock, just like the stockings, but couldn't make it work doing two socks at a time on two circs, so the hearts just go up the front and back. I added a lacy, twisted rib cuff and a girly picot bind-off. Yarn is Knitpicks Stroll Sock in the Lullaby colorway.

Wearin' O the Green--March's Sock for the Month

Here it is!  The sock for March.  Lacy diamond pattern with a seed stitch detail separating each lace panel.  The sock starts with a picot cuff--one of my favorites since there is no k1, p1, stuff going on just row after row of stst.  The leg can be worked as many pattern repeats as desired.  The heel is nothing fancy, but simple and straight forward.  Any of your favorite heels will work in perfectly.

The lace/seed stitch design continues across the instep and the whole thing is finished up with a regular toe.  Super easy to memorize the pattern and they work up really quick.  I still have some "Shamrock" sock yarn available in my etsy store if you need some!  The pattern has been uploaded to the Google group.

For those of you who have kept up with each pattern, remember this is the final pattern for the six month grand prize drawing.  So don't miss this month!!

Valentine socks

Here are my valentine socks completed. I didn't do the full length version as I just don't have the legs for knee high socks so I knit the pattern up to the point where it splits for the ribbon.
The yarn was some of Anni's super-wash merino in a rather delicious raspberry colour. It was a lovely pattern and I very much enjoyed knitting it. I particularly like lacey socks.

Thank you Tama for a lovely pattern that I know I'll be using again. Looking forward to the March pattern and I have the sock yarn ready for knitting.

I made mine for Knitting with love. It wasn't really my style but I wanted to knit them.

I know for sure that there will be a girl in Romania who love them and they will make her smile for a little while in this harsh world.

It has taken some time for me to finish this socks...
Its not because of the pattern, its because I have had a lot of other stuff to do at the same time...
I think they turned out lovely with this mintgreen yarn and the dark green ribbon...

my valentines also done

I had a little knitter's block (like in writer's block) this month so these socks took me about three weeks (normally it takes me about one week for a pair of socks). It certainly wasn't due to the pattern, that I loved. I just was not in the mood for knitting. I also choose to do the shorter version because that's more practical for me. But I think all those knee highs are beauties. After knitting half of the first leg I noticed I made a mistake. I just went on with the foot pattern so I only have hearts on the front and back. The yarn I dyed myself.

I got some light green for the March pattern. Can't believe this is going to be the sixth sock allready. I hope I get my mojo back (is that a good english expression, english just isn't my native language).

it was long journey, i love the pattern and how they turned out... ill make them shorter next time!

I finished the Victorian Valentine socks. I knitted them with KnitPicks Stroll yarn in Firecracker Heather. Very nice yarn to work with. I made them into regular length socks. I also did one row of hearts in the front and did the back of the leg in a lace pattern I am using in a sweater I am knitting. Thanks for the beautiful pattern--I enjoyed them except for the k4tog every 10 rows. I used a tiny crochet needle to get into the four stitches and pull the yarn through. Someone suggested it in a comment. Thanks for the help!!

Valentine Socks - Shorter Version

I love the pattern but knew I would never, nor could I wear, anything that lacy. Instead I ended up knitting a pair of short socks with only one row of hearts going up the center.

Hi!  Everyone's February socks are looking great!  For those of you still working on them, you have until March 5th to complete your February socks.  However, the March sock pattern will come out and be available on March 1st.

Valentine Socks - The Short Version

Here is my version of the Victorian Valentine socks. Shorter, and without ribbon, but I still love them.

Done! Fun pattern, andquick too.
I decided to make stockings, but with a couple of modifications...I'm not very fond of ribbons and lace, although I like the original...but to make them more useful for me, I did the back of the stocking in ribbing, increasing every 10th row a few times. They fit, I only need to add a ribbon or something at the top to keep them up! I also changed the edging, and knitted it on. Kitty likes them too;-)

Yarn: Ida strømpegarn, from TrysilGarn, 80%wool superwash, 20% nylon, 50gr=150m

I used just a little more than 4 balls.

Needles: My new Addi 2.5mm circular, wooden,( great needles!) magic loop, both at the same time.
