Am I a winner ?!?!

What ????!!!! I won ?????!!! Oh my ! Oh my !!! yeapyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! I can't beleive it ! I don't recall winning anything in my whole life !!! This is my first participation at the sockamania club and i won already !?! Oh my ! I feel like jumping in the air! Thank you, thank you thank you sooooo much Anny ! I am so happy ! I am going right this minute and chose that special yarn ! Am i lucky everybody ?!!! Wahooo!!!

Simply Last Minute

I'm sure I won't be the last, but close... These were my 1st toe-up socks, and I knit Magic Loop, so this pattern really challenged me. I had needles flying everywhere! LOL. At one point I had 3 circs and 2 dpns going. But I made it through to the end. Woohoo! (Just don't look too closely, I still have a bit to learn. )

I made a couple of modifications: (1) I reduced to 60 stitches rather than 64 around, since I have a narrow foot; and (2) I did 2 repeats on the leg, not because I was running out of time (which of course I was), but because I was running out of yarn. I used Knit Picks Risata.

Oh the joys of doing something new, uploading pics to Blogger! Anyhow, here are my Simply Loves, finished last week. Saturday I managed to upload an entry, but no photo.

Great fun to knit - once I'd worked out how to position the single hearts! All ready to be sent to Mum for Mothering Sunday (2nd March).

I've discovered that my socks wear under the heels and balls of of my feet - any ideas for how to reinforce them as I knit, rather than darning later?

Simply Love - Newbie

First ever attempt at a Sockmania KAL. As neither of our two LYSs stock variegated sock yarn I chose two shades of pink sock yarn & a red merino 4-ply. After some initial wondering about stripes I came up with these.

Love the toe-up construction - hardly any sewing! Used my favourite short-row heel to fit with the colour scheme, & may have shortened the ribbing slightly! They will be an excellent Mothering Sunday gift for my Mum.

NB: Another time time I knit stripes with several balls of yarn I'll make sure to have more than two rows per stripe!

Looking forward to the March pattern.

Finished February

I used US size 1 (2.25 mm) needles and Meilenweit 100 Marmi for this month's socks. They came out great. I love the way that the twisted rib cuff looks, but it sure was a struggle to knit. :) Thanks for another great pattern, Anni.
