I just made it, but they are ready. A present for my niece. They are made from Ewas sockengarn, Hummer. Thanks for a great pattern, I am, as always, looking forward to next month pattern.

February socks are finished!

I had fun knitting these despite having the second sock give me problems. Stupid little errors that I had to go back to fix. On to March!

February???

Oh my it is already the 24. Alas I have only wond my beautiful club yarn into a ball. Morning sickness has kept me from doing a whole lot this month. Hopefully I will be able to do next months socks. I should only be sick for one more month and then later in my pregnancy I normally can't sleep so then I can do Feb's wonderfull socks. I love all your socks, they have turned out beautiful.

Scroll Down

Not for February's draw, of course, but four months after the pattern came out, I've finally got around to making Scrolls! =)

I used the discontinued Knit Picks Dancing (Square Dance) that I've had in my stash for a few years, and I'm really happy with how they've come out. The cotton content should make these a nice pair of summer socks.

I ripped the original heel back, and knitted a plain flap instead because the texture of the stitches in this particular yarn felt really uncomfortable. KP Dancing isn't soft! I also worked a wide toe (from Nancy Bush's Folk Socks), which is my current favourite. Oh, and I offset the pattern for sock #2 to make it a mirror image of the first.

Thanks for the patterns, Anni. I fully intend to get more of them knitted up, honest! =)

Here is my valentine...

The yarn is merino I think, I have had it for a while and find it when I look for yarn to this project.
As usual the pattern where great.
Than you Annie

Have a nice day you all//Birgitta

Valentine Socks

I really did take heed when Anni said to use calm yarn, but this yarn has been in my stash for quite a while, and I remembered it as white yarn with little flecks of red. Apparently my memory is not what it once was.

Wacky yarn choice aside, this was a fun pattern; not memorizable for me, but also not something that required intense concentration.

The casual observer can't see the hearts, but I know they're there and I love this pattern. I used a flap and gusset heel and have the rib pattern all the way down the back of the sock.

Thanks Anni - can't wait for March.

and the winner is.....

It's great to see so many finsihed socks for January. Well done everyone. I've not managed too much sock knitting lately but I'm itchin to cast on for a new pair this weekend, got to finish something else first. My daughter and her friend have just drawn the winners and they are.....
Sylvia for Twisted Cables
&
Tactless Wonder for Ripples.

congratulations to both of you. E-mail me on yarnaddictAThotmailDOTcoDOTuk (replace AT and DOT with @ and .) with your address and choice of yarn, you can choose any skein from my Etsy shop.

Happy knitting everyone,

Anni

...finally...

"Late" might be my middle name... I've been absent for some time- sorry about that. January's challenge got me back on track, but I haven't been able to post this earlier due to computerproblems. In January, I knit another pair of Elegance- those are the pink ones, for my DD2. I went down to 58 st, and did the cable for the larger size. Yarn: Senja from Gjestal, 2.5mm circularneedles, two-at-a-time, magic loop. She loves them, and has used them quite a bit already.
DS2 also wanted a pair- he got grey twisted cables, same yarn/needles/etc.
The blue ones are mine...Celtic Cable, done as pattern- except for the heel- I'm lousy at shortrowheels! But I found a toe-up heel with a heelflap somewhere that I've used a couple of times, and like. My main problem with toe-ups though is that I find it difficult to determine the length og the foot!
Anyway, these are great patterns and nice socks. Sorry about the blurry photo!
Now I need to find some yarn for this month's socks...

Have fun knitting...;-)

It's February..

... and I nearly forgot. Thanks to Barb for reminding me. I quite often don't go online even to check my e-mails on Sunday but luckily I did tonight. So the pattern has been posted to the Google group. It's a Valentines Day theme this month. The socks are knitted toe up and have got small hearts hidden in the twisted rib. It's very subtle and you'll need a solid or semisolid yarn to notice them. No wild stripes this month.

HEre are a few pics:

I'll do the prize draw tomorrow. I've been suffering the sideeffects of strong antibiotics this weekend and although a lot better I'm too tired to do too much tonight.

Happy knitting,

Anni

A tad late due to no power

I have had these done for a week or two (enough time to wear and wash them twice) but I just did not have the time to picture, download and post.

Then at 3:15 am this past Wednesday we lost power and did not get it back until yesterday at 4:20 pm. I was so tired from having 5 extra people and 3 extra dogs in the house (for more on this check out my blog later today) that when the power came back on I just wanted to sit and enjoy the quiet. Although 2 of the people and 1 dog are still with us as a tree fell over the feed line to my daughter's house and we have to do some other repairs before they can turn her electric back on. My DH is down there now with the kids trying to get everything fixed up.

Anyway, here are my socks. They are the spirals as the other pair I made of them I accidentally felted. They went into the machine without me knowing it. I now make sure that no socks go into the hamper. I have a special place that I put them to await being washed..

Speedways finished!!

I blasted through these in nothing flat! Yarn is hand-painted sock blank from Knit Picks. Thanks, Anni!
