August Footloose Completed

I have so many projects in process at first I hesitated making the August socks. Then I came across a skein of yarn, one that I had tried to use many times before for a pair of socks, but kept pulling it out. This time I found the right match. The yarn is Berroco Comfort sock in shades of greens, browns and blues. Perfect for fall and winter.

Better late than never

Finally I have finished my March socks. I had to use size 1½ needles.

I like the pattern and will do it again.

This time I used a double acrylic,very soft yarn in pretty pink...
They went really cosy...
I am also knitting a pair of mittens i the same yarn so I can be a like on both hand and feet...:o)

Footloose Socks

What a fun pattern. As usual, I did it toe up.

It's been so hot here that when I found this yarn while on vacation I just knew I had to make the August pattern using these fall colors. Unfortunately it's still hot, and this is the only bit of green in my yard.

Looking forward to next month's pattern and cooler weather.

Done! As always these where fun and very easy to do. I am using up an old stash of yarn I bought about 4 years ago from KnitPicks. This is an other Parade colour way. I have discovered that 2 50 gram balls doesn't have as much yarn as one of Anni's 100 gram balls. I had to take a different colour green Parade to complete the toes. This is for a friend of mine who is on a trip right now to Vietnam helping out an Orphanage and a Leper Colleney, she will be coming back at the end of the week and I can give her her new pair of socks. Celtic cable

Yes I know, even for a cathing up I'm too late.

But I love the way they turned out.
Ofcourse as usual, I didn't read the whole pattern ;-/. So when I finished one sock I saw that it was totally different than Anni's design. I made them with Regia Silk, it's really soft. Next time i'll take more stitches on the leg-part, it's a bit tight .

Winners & new pattern

First, sorry I'm a little late in posting the new pattern. Our annual church camp finished on Friday and I've been busy unpacking everything and getting sorted out at home. Simon and the girls camped although they had to abandon that on Wednesday when Simon fell and severely sprained his ankle. A trip to the local hospital and xrays confirmed it wasn't broken. On Tuesday we go to London for a few days so its kind of hectic here with Simon unable to do much and tons of washing, ironing and tomorrow, packing to do.

Not finished

I'm knitting on 3 pairs. To the right Rollercoaster. Great pattern, but I had to use very small needles (1,5).

Yes, I know I haven't made much progress, although I have worked on them, and hoped to finish by the end of July.

After the first picture was taken, I knit more, but kept having trouble, in that I would forget the make1s, and end up either ripping, or fudging, just to move forward. Finally, while I was on a trip last month, I realized that the original error was in one of the first few rows, and decided to rip it all out! Once I started over, it has gone more smoothly, and I'm making progress, although having much less time to knit, however, I only have a couple rows to finish up the heel flap, and then I think it will move faster, with only pattern on the instep.

Thank you Annie for such a beautiful sock pattern! Eventually, it will be finished, although it may take a while, as we are now expecting company to arrive on Friday, and they will be staying for about a month, so I can't expect to get much knitting done.

Twisted Cables Socks

I've been wanting to make these and finally got them made this month. Great to have a catch up month. These socks were easy to make, I love them. I used Knit Picks sock yarn that I dyed with Kool Aid, lemon-lime and blue raspberry. Colors look great with the cables. I also love the way the k1b looks.

Here is my catch up sock from January. It is made with Knit Picks yarn and pink Fixation heels. Unfortunately, the stripes cover up the heart design. Thanks again for the fun!

Get fruity!

A catch-up month was an exellent idea! Love all the finished socks that you've posted so far.

Picking the right pattern was a bit tricky! Two years ago, all I knitted was top-down, one-at-a-time, on DPN's...and only with a regular heelflap. But now I have figured out how to do the short-row-heel, so I wanted a pattern that would combine toe-up, short-row-heel, lace, and two-at-a-time using magic loop... "Get Fruity" met almost all those requirements, exept for the lace...so I cheated...instead of "m1", I did a "yo", and it looks good. The short-row-heel is pretty neat too. Only thing wrong with these...is that I'm still having a hard time figuring out the correct lenght of the sock when knitting toe-up-LOL! So these are way too short for the intended recipient, but will go straight into the gift basket.

Yarn: Viking Frøyagarn, 80%wool,20%nylon, machinewashable sockyarn. 50g=150m

Needles: 2.5mm bamboo/wooden circular needles.

Fun and fast.

Thanks again for a very nice pattern! For some reason I didn't knit this when we first got the pattern, so it was nice finally making them.

Ripples II

I didn't have any unfinished socks, so I decided to make another pair of Ripples. They were my favorite pattern.

While I was selecting yarn for the socks, my daughter wanted to help. This is what you get when you let a 6 year old pick your yarn. The colors are MUCH brighter in person.

Lazy Leaves in July

I was so glad that this was designated a "make up" month! I have about 3 months worth of sock projects all waiting to be finished. I chose to finish this one though.

I had the first sock done before I discovered that a revised pattern was available. This was such a pretty pattern. I have already had many compliments on them! The yarn is a merino/bamboo blend and I used some ebony wood needles from Lantern Moon to knit them up. The yarn and needle combination is part of the reason it took so long. I am not fond of wooden needles, but these are exceptional! I enjoyed every single stitch!

June's Yarn

My yarn just arrived!! It is beautiful as always and oh so soft. This is Alpaca Lace in Rose color. I may need to order me an other skein to make sure I have enough for a stole or something. lol Thanks Anni

rollercoasters in july

I made the March socks, and I love them! They fit really well, and the design is so pretty. Thanks a bunch, Anni! I used Lion Brand Sock Ease, and I really like the thin stripes.

Here are my Lacy Diamond Socks. My granddaughter is wearing them and you can just see her 1 year old brother's foot! I used Regia sock yarn by Kaffe Fassett. I loved the vivid crayon colors. The color name is in German so I am not sure of the official name!
I may be absent from the club for a month or so. I have my other knee replaced tomorrow. I hurried to get this pair done before surgery!

Celtic Cable Heel Socks - July

Last year the Celtic Cable Heel pattern was one of my favorites. When Anni posted it again this month, I couldn't resist knitting another pair. I used Fannie's Fingering Weight from Farmhouse Yarns. The colorway is Indian Corn.

Lazy Leaves

I had hopes of finishing these in time for June, but didn't quite make it. I love the leaf pattern, I don't really care for the toe up construction. Sorry for the poor photo. Thanks Anni!

July done!

Whoo Hoo, I finished. These are socks I made for my neice, she is going to college down by the ocean and her mom told me she is always complaining that her feet are cold, so I made these longer than what we wear here in the desert. Its 110 degrees F here. The pattern is Ripples from November 2007, and the yarn is Knit Picks Parade. I actually ran out of yarn the last 8 rows in both socks and had to use Knit Picks Essential Plum Tweed. the Essential is thinner than the Parade but don't think that will matter too much. This is a fun and easy pattern. Thanks Anni

Pretty Yarn

Just got my Anni yarn today (I won yarn for the 17 May socks), and I must say that it is so wonderful! It's the cotton/tencel yarn in "Sweets" and is my favorite colors of lilac and pink. Not sure if I'm going to knit it or just keep petting it - it's that soft.

July "Catch Up" Month

Time to catch-up on those started, but never completed, Sockamania socks. Post your photo to the blog before July 31st to be eligible for the monthly draw.

I hope I am in time--it is 9:15pm where I live. I have been taking my sock knitting to physical therapy. It helps take my mind off how much my knee hurts!! Several people always check to see if I have my knitting with me and ask how much I have progressed. They all want me to make them a pair of socks now!

I knitted the socks in Patons Stretch Socks in color plum. It is a combination of orange, dark green, khaki, and purple. My daughter picked it out and gave it to me for Mother's Day.
