Spiralling Socks

I chose to do the Spiralling Socks- Regia 4 ply with size 2 dpns. Cast on 72, worked pattern through heel and gussett then went to k3xp3 ribbing for the top of the foot.
THANK YOU for a great pattern- can't wait to see February's!!

Get Fruity

Just had to do the sewn bind off on these. Love the pattern and tried to have them ready in Nov. A merino/silk blend hand dyed by ForestFiberWorks, bought on Etsy. Lovely yarn. I'll do this pattern again.

Finally Twisted Cables

These were halfway finished on the first sock when I picked them up again. I ended up making them for my husband. I feel lucky to have them finished! Can't wait for tomorrow's new pattern.

Celtic Cable Heel Socks

Finally finished these, love the cable up the back. Now I'm thinking I might want to make them longer. I have plenty of yarn to extend them. I used Austermann Step with Aloe. They feel luscious! Thank you Anni for a great pattern and for letting us post long after the month you gave them to us.

Camo Scrolls

Good Luck finding the scrolls in these socks. nice pattern, but I could not get a good picture of the pattern. :( Pagewood yarn is real nice to work with, I can't wait to roll up in these scrolls! Thanks Anni

Ripples, Check!

Hi everyone! So did you know that if you knit a couple stitches every day that eeee-vveeen-ttttuuuu-aaaaly (i.e. more than a year!) you too will finish a pair of socks? I just finished them last night. They are still quite sopping wet in this picture.

I modified the pattern as they are for my mom and she wanted a plain foot. A million stockingette stitches later...finally done.

Thanks, Anni, for the pattern and the opportunity to post a finished pair WAAAAAY after the Ripples round was up.

Hi everyone,

This is my first time posting, and my first time finishing within the time frame! I am attempting my first embedding photos...

These are the twisted cable socks, done with Maizy yarn, 2,25 mm dpns. I don't think I'd use this yarn again, as they are quite baggy, although the correct size. But they're good around the house.

Love all the projects here!
Chris

2 1/2 for January!

I made two pair of Spiraling Socks for a charity called Warm Woolies. They send wool items to orphanages in eastern Europe and to Indian reservaqtions in the USA. They want socks thick and warm, as many of these children only have plastic sandals to wear. I used two strands of sock yarn (all the leftovers from previous socks) and #6 needles, so they are a thick worsted weight. Oh, and way fewer stitches, of course.I think they turned out pretty cute. The half-done ones are being knitted in the Speedway pattern from a Knit Picks sock blank I hand painted. Some friends and I got together and had a blast even though we had no idea what we were doing. A sock blank, by the way, is a long rectangle knit in stockinette stitch with two strands of sock yarn. You dye it and then knit two socks at a time directly from it, unravelling as you go. Both socks come out the same. I hope to have them finished by the deadline, but I wanted to show the sock blank I started from as well. I have one more dyed blank, completely different from this one. Maybe for Frebruary's socks?

I had a pair of socks that I finished too late to post a month or two ago. I really liked the pattern and it turned out so beautifully. It is the Twisted Cables socks. I knitted it in DMC Senso which is linen/cotton. It is color N1202, a very nice tan color. I think it is for crocheting but I found it easy to knit. The socks are soft and very comfortable. And being a solid color, the pattern really shows up.

I also knitted Simply Cables. I liked this pattern also. I didn't really want to pick up the stitches at the heel--I like the wrap and turn heel better. It seems to fit my foot better. But I went ahead and knitted it per the pattern. The yarn is Paton Kroy Socks in the stripes. The colorway is cyan. I love the combination of colors. I want to do some more socks in this yarn. You cannot see the beautiful cables in my picture.
Thanks for all the patterns this month. I really don't need any more choices!! I get behind as it is!!

More patterns

I've posted a couple of more patterns this morning on the Google group.

If you've not posted a pair of finished socks yet this month, then hurry up and make sure you don't miss out on the draw. You can post any previous Sockamania pair that you finish this month (whether you started them this month or a year ago) and you can post as many pairs as you like. You will get one entry into the draw for each pair you post. Last day for posting is 31 January and I will do the draw on 1 Feb and then post the new February pattern which I've nearly finished knitting. Only a few rounds left.

Fancy some yarn to go with your Sockamania pattern, how about joining the 'No Wool Sock Club' which is a brand new club using an organic cotton/tencel sock yarn and the parcels will be sent out by the end of the first week in February so if you want to sign up for this you need to do so before the end of January.

There is also the regular sock club 'Sock Variety Club' which will feature a different sock yarn each month. I'm sending out the February parcels today so it's too late to sign up for Feb now but get in early for March.

The clubs last for 3 months but there are one month options available too so you can try it out for just one month if you're not sure. And the sale carries on until end of January. More yarns will be added at sale prices this week.

Happy knitting,

Anni

Spiralling Socks

These socks were the pattern the month I joined, so I didn't get to knit them. I've always thought they were pretty, so was very happy to have this opportunity to have my own pair.

Thanks Anni; looking forward to next month.

Simply cables

I was very happy to get this pattern, I had seen it on this blog before. Now I am even more happy with the result. I am sure I will knit them again. Thanks Anni!

Sockamania PLUS Merino Sock Club News

’m in a changing mood these days. Teh Lace Variety Club has been overhauled and now it’s the turn of the Sockamania PLUS.

Teh regular free Sockamania pattern only club will remain as it is … for now…. but the PLUS club with yarn is chainging.

You will still get teh monthly Sockamania pattern as before but the name of the club will change to Sock Variety Club and will feature a variety of sock yarns. Teh yarns I have in mind are Merino sock yarns, BFL sock yarns, Bambino (bamboo/merino) and Merino Tencel. These are the most likely contenders for the club and the yarns will vary from month to month like the Lace Variety Club.

There will be new prices too, which will be valid for memberships or renewals starting from February 2009. I’ve reviewed the exchange rates again and the current economic climate and decided to make some positive changes.

Also there will be a ‘Two Club’ option. A special discount if you join two of my clubs which will save you money. It saves you more if you join the lace and sock club but you can join two sock clubs too as I’m starting another sockclub too which will be announced on my blog sometime today.

I'll be listing the new clubs in my shop some time today.

All done with Getting Fruity

I started these with plenty of time to have finished them in the month they came out. However, I suddenly realized that Christmas was just around the corner. So these got set aside until January. I am so glad that this gets to be a make up month!
I really like this pattern! I used Tofutsies yarn for them. Should I make them again I will use a plain color to show off the lace work better. It kind of got lost in the varigated yarn colors unfortunately.
I will set these aside for either someone's birthday present or for a Christmas present--that is if I can keep myself from wearing them.

Socks for January

Here is my Kaleidoscope socks for This month.
Love the pattern.
Thanks Annie

Scrolls Socks

This month gave me just the right motivation to finish the Scrolls Socks that got put aside for holiday knitting!

scroll1

I originally started socks in this yarn (Maizy in Neptune) in plain stockinette, but the pooling was so bad I figured the Scrolls pattern would break it up a bit. It makes it a little hard to see the patterning, but I don't think that will be a problem when I'm wearing them.

January Patterns

Happy New Year to everyone. And well done to everyone who completed Decembers socks. I've had the list from Barb but I've not had time to do the draw yet. I'll try to get it done tomorrow morning, but it may be Tuesday. I'm going for an op on my mouth after lunch tomorrow and I've got to process several orders and write an article for Yarn Forward magazine before I go. We came back from our Christmas holiday in Norway (very, very cold but no snow) last night, later than expected due to flight delays. Then today unpacking 4 suitcases took it out of me and I fell asleep afterwards when I should have been catching up on computer stuff and finishing off my article. Despite my sleep this afternoon I'm exhausted again so just going to write this post and post the patterns to the Google group then haivng an early night.

This month I don't have a new pattern due to an insanely busy schedule in December. So I'm making January a catch up month. You can finish off any of the old Sockamania patterns that you've not managed to finish or even knit. List any Sockamania patterns finished in January (even if you only have the toe left to do) or knit a new pair of any Sockamania pattern and you'll qualify for the draw and you can enter as many pairs as you like.

For new members or those who may have mislaid any previous patterns I'll list a selection of old Sockamania patterns on the Google group. If there are any patterns you would particularly like to see listed on the Google group let me know.

I was good over Christmas and finsihed my 2nd Scroll sock and On the Run sock (the first one was done a year ago). So I now have a complete On the Run and Scroll pairs. Also knitted a pair of plain socks in the January Sockamania club yarn which look great. Pictures on my blog in the next day or two. And I knitted one sock and started the 2nd in a new cotton/tencel sock yarn which will start appearing in the shop next week.

If you wish to join Sockamania PLUS Merino Sock Club, pop over to my Etsy shop now to join. Prices came down just before Christmas due to the change in exchange rate so now's the time to join. Also havinga mega January sale in my shop. All yarns reduced.

Happy knitting,

Anni

December Sock Completion Deadline January 3rd

December Sock Completion Deadline Extended To January 3rd
The deadline for the December Cables and Lace pattern has been extended to January 3rd. The draw will be done on January 4th.
This will hopefully give more members a chance to complete their December socks and still have time to enjoy their holidays
