Good News & Bad News

I've got some good news and some bad news. I'll go with the good news first. September we'll have the choice of 2 Sockamania patterns and one is especially designed for men. And there will be a grand price of a 3 month membership of the Sock Variety Club for the winner of the prize draw plus 2 runner up prizes of a skein of yarn of winner's choice. So make sure you join in the knit along next month.

Now, for the bad news and the reason we're having a big prize draw next month. After months of consideration I've decided to finish Sockamania. During this year my design workload for magazines has increased dramatically and I'm finding it difficult to find the time to design a new sock pattern every month so I've made this very difficult decision. I've enjoyed Sockamania and i hope you have too. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank my helpers, Pixie, Barb and Pam for all their help in running the club. I coudn't have managed without them. And I'd like to thank all you guys for being members and knitting my patterns.

There may be the odd suprise or two during September so check the blog often and do take part in the knitalong and prize draw for your chance to win our grand prize of a 3 month Sock VAriety Club membership.

the September patterns will be posted on 1 September.

Happy knitting,

Anni

Oh sad news for us - but understandable that you have other claims on your designing talents - I'm looking forward to the bumper September :o)

Also sad, but also really thankful for having been a part of this group!

Having been overwhelmed by the world and work and such, I haven't gotten a chance to try the last many of your patterns, but those I have (my mom loves her Ripples, and I loved making them) have been easy to follow.

Thanks for everything you've done!

I am sorry you've decided to close down Sockamania, but I understand too. I've knitted almost every pattern you've designed for the club, and loved most of them. Good luck with your new adventures!
I am looking forward to the men's pattern though;-)

I have so enjoyed Sockamania during the short time I've been here. I'm sad to see it end. However, it is SO COOL that you are getting busy designing for other venues! I'm happy for you. I wish you all success in your future.

With great appreciation,
Linda Jo Park

So sad for us, but how wonderful for you. It's been so much fun to knit your lovely patterns. When I first joined the blog (9/07) I had only knit one other pair of socks. Now I've got a drawer full and wear only hand knit socks. This group has helped my knitting skills more than I could have ever believed.

Looking forward to watching your continued success, Anni.

Sad to hear your news, but also happy for you in that means your magazine work is really coming along for you. Maybe we could keep the blog to continue posting any of our Anni Design projects that we finish? Just a thought. Thanks for all your wonderful sock patterns!

It's sad but understandable :) I have completed a couple of pairs and have increased my wips a fair bit- although i'll admit I don't knit fast enough lol

I feel I HAVE to knit Septembers socks in celebration and should spur me on to actually finish them!!!

I wish you all the success in the world Anni, you've come so far since hanging your bags in a tree *wink*

Oh, no! I've enjoyed being part of your Sockamania group and have loved watching everyone's socks emerge from their needles.

Congratulations, Anni, on your success as a designer! I will be looking forward to knitting the designs you invent in the coming years through your magazine work. Then we can all say, "we knew you when..." All the best!

Thanks for all the wonderful patterns you have shared with us. Some of your patterns have been my all time favorites and I've knit them several times. I am sad that this is ending, but I understand. Best wishes for your future endeavors.

So sorry to hear about you having to close Sockamania but perfectly understand how you must be swamped with everything these days. I wish you well in all your endeavours and will still be keeping an eye out for your new patterns on your shop site and in knitting magazines :)

Oh bummer, but I understand. I am now having a hard time keeping up with knitting a pair of socks a month, but have totaly enjoyed it. My sock drawers are full and I know have lots to choose from to make gifts. I sure hope I can knit up a pair of socks this month. Thanks Anni for a wonderful time of knitting socks, I have learned so much over the past few years.
