Simply cables

Simply cables done! Very nice pattern- again!- thanks, Annie! These are knit in Silja sockyarn on 2.5mm circular, both at the same time using magic loop and cabling without a cable needle. I thought it would be messy, but it worked out fine, actually a lot easier than I anticipated! This might well be my new favourite way of knitting socks:-) It took longer to finish- but as you see they have very long cuffs- but when they were done, both were done. These are made for my son, he has shoes # 47 (13 in US?). I think he likes them. I know I do:-)

Great pair of socks.

I'm not sure I would enjoy two socks at once as I love seeing the one finishing up quick but I'm definitely going to try cabling without a cable needle for my second sock.

Hope your son likes them.

great job!!! What length did you use for 2 & how'd you do the heel flap/gusset?

Your socks look great! I too have a son with size 13 feet. I made him socks for Christmas and needed to buy an extra ball of yarn so the cuffs would be tall enough! I also do 2 at a time toe up, but use 2 circs, haven't tried Magic Loop. I haven't figured out how to turn the heels and gobble up the gusset stitches 2 at once though--I put one sock's sole stitches on a holder while I'm doing the other, then return to 2 at once for the cuffs. I'd love to know how you do it.

FAbolous socks. I've done some socks on two circs lately and it's great that when they're done the whole pair is done. As I suffer from dreadful 2nd sock syndrome.
