The pattern is easy going, and I hope to get more knitting accomplished this weekend in between the usual laundry, housework, and grocery shopping. There seems to be a missing piece in the pattern: the number of stitches on the heel is not mentioned (unless I missed it?). I knit the heel with 1/2 of the stitches on the needle (33 of 66), which is a typical formula. Is this ok?

Cathy, that's what I did for the heel as well, after much fretting about it (while stuck on an airplane!), and finally remembering that I had other sock patterns on the laptop to consult. It worked out fine.
Your sock looks great!
I noticed that too, but just went with the usual half the stitches are used for the heel theory. Using that my heel worked out fine.
